About GSMS Publications

Who We Are

GSMS Publications is the official publishing division of the Green and Sustainable Materials Society (GSMS), dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge in green technology, sustainable materials, and environmental sciences. Based in Indonesia, we operate a fully digital, open-access publishing platform at greensusmater.com.

We publish peer-reviewed academic journals that serve researchers, academics, and practitioners worldwide. Our commitment is to provide a transparent, rigorous, and accessible platform for disseminating high-quality research.

Our Mission

To accelerate the global transition toward sustainability by publishing high-quality, open-access research that is freely available to readers worldwide — removing financial barriers to knowledge and fostering collaboration across disciplines and borders.

Our Values

Open Access

All GSMS journals are gold open access, ensuring that published work is freely and immediately available to readers worldwide. We believe knowledge should be accessible to everyone, regardless of institutional affiliation or geography. Article content is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY 4.0), and authors retain copyright of their work.

Editorial Integrity

We uphold the highest standards of publication ethics as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Every submission undergoes rigorous peer review by independent experts. Our editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit, originality, and relevance — free from commercial or political influence.

Transparency

We are committed to transparency in all aspects of the publishing process. Article Processing Charges, review timelines, editorial policies, and acceptance criteria are clearly communicated. We believe trust is built through openness.

Research Community

We actively support early-career researchers, scholars from developing countries, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Our platform is built to serve the research community — not the other way around.

Indexing & Archiving

GSMS Publications journals are indexed and discoverable through major academic databases and services:

  • Crossref — DOI registration for all published articles
  • Google Scholar — Full-text indexing and citation tracking
  • Dimensions — Citation data and research analytics

We are actively pursuing indexing in DOAJ, ROAD, Scopus, and Web of Science as our journals mature.

Infrastructure & Technology

Our platform is powered by Open Journal Systems (OJS), the world's most widely used open-source journal management and publishing software, developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). This ensures:

  • Industry-standard editorial workflow and peer review management
  • Long-term digital preservation and accessibility
  • Interoperability with global scholarly infrastructure (DOI, ORCID, Crossref)
  • Compliance with international metadata standards (Dublin Core, JATS XML)
