Partnership Models
Affiliated Society
Your society becomes an official affiliated partner of one or more GSMS journals. This is the simplest way to connect your society's scholarly community with a focused, open-access publishing platform.
What your society gets:
- Society logo and recognition on the affiliated journal's website
- Guaranteed APC waivers or preferential rates for society members
- Right to nominate members for the journal's editorial board
- Cross-promotion — GSMS promotes society events; your society promotes the journal to its members
- Priority review for manuscripts submitted by society members
Conference Proceedings
Publish selected papers from your society's annual conference or symposium as a special issue in a GSMS journal. This gives your conference output permanent, citable, and discoverable publication.
What we provide:
- Dedicated special issue with your conference name and branding
- Full peer review coordination by the GSMS editorial team
- DOI registration for every published paper
- Professional layout, typesetting, and publication in PDF and HTML
- Indexing in Google Scholar, Dimensions, and Crossref
Co-Sponsored Special Issues
Your society proposes and co-organizes a thematic special issue on a topic aligned with your members' research interests. A guest editor from your society leads the issue with support from the GSMS editorial team.
How it works:
- Your society proposes the special issue theme and guest editor
- GSMS handles the call for papers, submission management, and production
- The guest editor manages peer review with GSMS editorial support
- Both the society and GSMS are credited on the special issue page
Co-Publishing
For societies ready to launch a new journal in sustainability sciences, GSMS offers a co-publishing arrangement. Your society provides the scholarly network and editorial vision; we provide the publishing infrastructure.
What we provide:
- Full OJS platform setup, hosting, and maintenance
- DOI registration, metadata preparation, and indexing applications
- Production services — copyediting, typesetting, proofreading
- Marketing and discoverability support
- Open access compliance (CC-BY 4.0 licensing, COPE adherence)
Your society retains editorial ownership, including the right to appoint the Editor-in-Chief and set the journal's scope and policies.

How It Works
Step 1 — Get in Touch
Contact us at partnerships@greensus.org with a brief introduction of your society and the type of partnership you are interested in.
Step 2 — Explore the Fit
We will arrange a discussion to understand your society's goals and identify the best partnership model. We are flexible and happy to tailor arrangements to your specific needs.
Step 3 — Formalize & Launch
Once aligned, we sign a lightweight partnership agreement and begin collaborating — whether that means affiliating with a journal, publishing conference proceedings, or launching a co-sponsored special issue.
Eligibility
We welcome partnership inquiries from:
- Scientific societies — in materials science, environmental science, green chemistry, sustainable engineering, and related disciplines
- Professional associations — representing researchers, engineers, or practitioners in sustainability fields
- Regional and national societies — including emerging societies in developing countries
- Interdisciplinary networks — focused on cross-cutting sustainability themes (circular economy, clean energy, water treatment, etc.)
FAQ
Is there a cost for the society?
No. Affiliation, conference proceedings, and co-sponsored special issues involve no financial cost to the society. Co-publishing partnerships involve shared responsibilities discussed on a case-by-case basis.
Does our society need to be large?
Not at all. We welcome societies of all sizes — from small regional associations to larger international bodies. What matters is alignment with our mission in green and sustainable sciences.
Can our society publish conference proceedings?
Yes. Selected papers from your conference can be published as a peer-reviewed special issue with full DOIs and indexing. Contact us to discuss the scope and timeline.
Will our society retain editorial control?
Absolutely. In all partnership models, your society retains the right to appoint editors, set scope, and make editorial decisions. GSMS provides the infrastructure and production support.
