Institutional Partnerships

Institutional Partnerships

GSMS Publications invites universities, research institutes, and academic organizations to collaborate in advancing open-access publishing in green and sustainable sciences. We offer flexible partnership models designed to support institutional research missions while expanding the reach and impact of sustainability-focused scholarship.

As an emerging publisher with a focused scope and agile infrastructure, we provide personalized attention, fast communication, and flexible terms — advantages that larger commercial publishers cannot match.

Why Partner With Us?

  • Niche expertise — We specialize exclusively in green technology, sustainable materials, and environmental sciences
  • Zero cost for researchers — All APCs are currently waived during our introductory period (first 3 volumes per journal)
  • Open-source infrastructure — Built on Open Journal Systems (OJS), ensuring transparency and community-driven publishing
  • Rigorous peer review — Single-blind peer review with strict adherence to COPE guidelines
  • Global discoverability — DOI registration via Crossref, indexing in Google Scholar and Dimensions
  • Early-mover advantage — Founding partners gain long-term benefits as GSMS Publications grows

Partnership Models

Founding Partner

Join us as a recognized founding partner during our formative years. This is an opportunity for institutions committed to sustainability research to build a lasting relationship with a growing publisher.

What you get:

  • Institutional recognition on the GSMS Publications website
  • Guaranteed preferential APC rates when charges are introduced in the future
  • Priority consideration for special issue proposals from affiliated researchers
  • Dedicated communication channel with the GSMS editorial team
  • Annual publishing activity report for affiliated authors

Journal Hosting

Does your institution or department want to launch a new journal in sustainability, environmental science, or green technology? GSMS Publications can host and manage it on our OJS platform.

What we provide:

  • Full OJS platform setup and hosting
  • Editorial workflow management and peer review coordination
  • DOI registration, metadata preparation, and indexing support
  • Professional layout, typesetting, and publication in PDF and HTML
  • Ongoing technical maintenance and platform updates

Your institution retains full editorial ownership and control over the journal's scope, editorial board, and content decisions.

Co-Publishing

Collaborate with GSMS Publications to co-publish special issues, thematic collections, or entirely new journals. Ideal for research centers, departments, or multi-institutional consortia working on large-scale sustainability projects.

How it works:

  • Your institution proposes a journal or special issue topic aligned with sustainability sciences
  • GSMS provides the publishing infrastructure, production, and distribution
  • Editorial responsibilities are shared according to a mutually agreed arrangement
  • Both parties are credited as co-publishers

Editorial Collaboration

Strengthen the connection between your institution and GSMS Publications through editorial board participation and academic collaboration.

What this includes:

  • Nomination of qualified faculty members for journal editorial boards
  • Institutional acknowledgment on the GSMS Publications partner page
  • Opportunities to propose and guest-edit special issues
  • Invitation to serve as peer reviewers across GSMS journals

FAQ

Is there a cost to become a partner?
No. There is no fee to become a Founding Institutional Partner or to participate in editorial collaboration. Journal hosting and co-publishing partnerships involve shared operational responsibilities, which are discussed on a case-by-case basis.

Our institution is not in the environmental science field. Can we still partner?
Our journals focus on green and sustainable sciences. If your institution has researchers or departments working in related areas — sustainable materials, environmental engineering, green chemistry, membrane technology, etc. — we would be happy to explore a partnership.

What happens when APCs are introduced?
Founding Institutional Partners will receive preferential APC rates and advance notification before any charges are introduced. No partner institution will face unexpected costs.

How long does a partnership agreement last?
Partnership terms are flexible and discussed during the agreement phase. Typical initial terms are 2–3 years, renewable by mutual agreement.
